Patrick Allen
Owner and Physical Therapist
Patrick Allen, DPT, Cert. DN, founded his commitment to physical therapy early in life. As a young athlete, he faced a series of sports injuries, which led to orthopedic surgery performed by Dr. Jim Whatley in Opelika during his teenage years. This firsthand experience with a multidisciplinary healthcare team solidified his career path. Witnessing professionals help individuals return to their prior level of function and achieve their goals at the age of 13, Patrick knew physical therapy was his calling.
Today, with his wife, Hillary, and their three sons—Jackson, Houston, and Parker—by his side, he finds profound satisfaction in serving clients. Guided by faith and a commitment to servanthood, Patrick is devoted to ensuring each individual achieves their unique goals and feels genuinely cared for throughout their therapeutic journey.
At PT on the Plains, the difference lies not only in the quality of therapy but also in the environment and culture Patrick has cultivated. As a privately owned establishment deeply rooted in the Auburn/Opelika community, he takes pride in delivering personalized care. Brianna Golden
Physical Therapist
Brianna Golden, PT, DPT, BS, Cert. MDT, earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science from Auburn University in 2011, and completed her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2014.
She is highly certified in both Dry Needling and Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy (MDT) from the McKenzie Institute, and is an active member of the Alabama Physical Therapy Association (APTA), specifically engaged with the Sports and Orthopedics sections of the American Physical Therapy Association. When not serving her patients, Brianna enjoys traveling, reading, and spending time with her husband, Will, and their son, Archie.
Sawyer Hughes
Physical Therapist Assistant
Sawyer Hughes, PTA, serves as a Physical Therapist Assistant at PT on the Plains. Originally from Dutton, Alabama, his career choice was influenced by his agricultural upbringing and a lifelong passion for sports and physical training. Sawyer earned his degree as a Physical Therapist Assistant from Wallace State Community College in Hanceville, Alabama, in 2024.
He currently lives in Auburn with his wife, Harlee, and their two Miniature Aussiedoodles, Goose and Ivie. In his free time, he enjoys maintaining his physical and mental wellness through fitness, playing golf, and spending quality time with his family.
